I always kinda wanted to be a dentist. My grandfather was a dentist, and that originally gave me the idea. And then, you know, it just always seemed like a cool job. And honestly, I don’t even really know. I just really felt like I never really wanted to do anything else that much. You know, I liked working with my hands and then working with people. And now, it’s been a good profession. I really enjoy it.
So, yeah, for whatever reason, I don’t know. That’s just who I am, you know. You know, the most rewarding part of being a dentist in cases is when you really do transformative dentistry for somebody, meaning, you know, someone who has either a large functional deficit tooth-wise where they don’t have teeth, they have a lot of tooth problems, or they are really unsatisfied with the way their teeth look.
And doing those types of cases is probably the most rewarding part we’ve had. We’ve transformed the patient’s looks and life by giving them nice teeth when they didn’t ever have that, you know. And then they feel great about it when we’re all done. And they have, if they’re happy, ultimately improved their life. That’s the rewarding part.
The most rewarding part of the job is to do that type of dentistry in addition to just, you know, the normal day-to-day stuff, of course, when, you know, you’re just kinda keeping people’s teeth healthy and hopefully having them keep their healthy teeth if they have healthy teeth. That’s always rewarding. But, no, probably, the most rewarding is to do the transformative type of dental work that we, you know…it really changes people’s lives.
